Overdue Fines and Fees
Standard use of the library is free of charge. However, you may incur costs for overdue fines, lost or damaged items, or for specific library services.
If you do not return a borrowed item by the end of the > Loan Period , an overdue notice is sent requesting the return of the item and specifying the amount of the fine.
Fines are payable at any HM Library:
- EC card - via a Self-Checkout Terminal available in each HM Library branch
- Bank transfer: you will find the details for payment by bank transfer on the overdue notice.
As a service to you, a > Friendly Reminder notification is sent before the end of the loan period, per email, reminding you the return date for library items is fast approaching. ***This service is without guarantee.
